Dr. Mina Owlia, M.D., FACC, is a non-invasive cardiovascular specialist with a focus on advanced cardiac imaging, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and stress testing. She has extensive expertise in transesophageal echocardiography and structural heart imaging, including imaging support for Watchman procedures and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Thoughtful and collaborative in her approach, Dr. Owlia partners closely with her patients and referring physicians to deliver individualized, evidence-based care aimed at optimizing long-term heart health.
Dr. Mina Owlia was born and raised in West Hartford, Connecticut. She completed both her undergraduate education and medical degree at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. She subsequently completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at New York University, serving as Chief Fellow during her final year of training.
Dr. Owlia brings more than eight years of clinical cardiology experience in the local community. She previously served as Director of Cardio-Oncology and was actively involved in developing Cardio-Obstetrics and Women’s Heart Health programs. She maintains specialized expertise in women’s cardiovascular health and the cardiovascular care of oncology patients, and treats the full spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, including preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, arrhythmia management, heart failure, hypertension, and lipid disorders.
