Our arrhythmia and electrophysiology service at Cardiac Specialists is dedicated to diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. Led by experienced cardiologists and electrophysiologists, we specialize in managing a wide range of conditions including abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias), electrical conduction issues of the heart, and congestive heart failure.

Comprehensive Diagnostic Capabilities

Using state-of-the-art equipment and advanced techniques, we offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic services to evaluate heart rhythm disorders. These include:

  • Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG): A standard test that records the electrical activity of the heart.
  • Holter Monitoring: Continuous ECG recording over 24 to 48 hours to detect intermittent arrhythmias.
  • Event Monitoring: Extended ECG monitoring for several weeks to capture more infrequent arrhythmias.
  • Electrophysiology Studies (EPS): Invasive testing to study the heart’s electrical system and assess for arrhythmias.
  • Implantable Loop Recorder (ILR): Implantable device utilized for long-term monitoring to diagnose and manage rare arrhythmias.

Advanced Treatment Options

Once diagnosed, our team provides personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique condition. Our services include:

  • Medication Management: Prescription of antiarrhythmic drugs to control arrhythmias.
  • Cardioversion: Electrical or chemical procedure to restore normal heart rhythm.
  • Catheter Ablation: Minimally invasive procedure to correct abnormal electrical pathways in the heart.
  • Implantable Cardiac Devices: Insertion and management of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and biventricular pacemaker-defibrillators for long-term rhythm control and the assistance in the management of congestive heart failure.
  • Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion: Insertion of a device in the heart to reduce the risk of stroke for patients with atrial fibrillation who would otherwise require treatment with a blood thinner.
