The doctors of Cardiac Specialists have a special interest in preventive cardiology.

If you have cardiac risk factors, but have never had a heart attack or stroke, you will be evaluated by a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in preventive cardiology. Together, we will review your medical and family history and, using proven risk calculators, assess your risk for developing cardiovascular disease. Your evaluation may require further testing, such as stress testing, an ultrasound of the heart or blood tests, or a CT scan of the heart. Once the evaluation is complete, you and your doctor will develop a plan utilizing lifestyle modification and pharmacologic therapy to reduce your risk for having a cardiovascular event. If you have already had a heart attack or stroke we will review your medical history, blood tests, and other cardiac tests in order to develop a comprehensive plan to prevent another cardiovascular event.

As heart disease in woman can have a different presentation than men, we also consider women’s health and disease prevention a part of our mission.

Our overall goal is to help you “Take Control of Your Cardiac Destiny.”
